Blurb: Welcome to HARROWING TALES, where danger and intrigue lurk around every corner and the fragmented stories of the ancient past have become puzzles of the present day. Journey to distant corners of the world, gunfight with nefarious villains, romance beautiful and dangerous women, explore forgotten labyrinths and lost worlds, escape diabolical death traps, recover treasures of antiquity, and test your mettle against the supernatural, all while hanging on against all odds at the suspenseful brink of looming disaster!

The year is 1936. The world is in the grip of the Great Depression and on the verge of war. You are Jack Venture, private gumshoe, globetrotter, treasure seeker, and man of action.

This is a gamebook in the genre of the pulp serials of the 1930's and 40's, with elements of action and suspense and the tone of a hard-boiled detective story. Period-appropriate photographs, actual news headlines, and period-accurate equipment and prices enhance the immersive experience of the historical setting. In the style of old radio shows and pulp magazines, each installment in the series ends in a cliffhanger... so you have to "stay tuned to find out what happens next"!
