Do not bother. The events are random occurrences, seemingly just to keep something happening and giving you choices and not to progress the story (what story?!?). The choices seem to be always standardly three - the bare minimum to not be able to say there are not multitude of options. There is no information whatsoever that will allow you to pick the correct choice, e.g. do you go left, right or up with nothing hinting what is there. And apparently either only one choice is correct or the choices do not matter.
